Account Setup

Fi-Med provides clients with a comprehensive practice analysis to identify inefficiencies and potential areas of improvement, then sets clients up with the processes and technologies that streamlines practice business.

At sign-up your Fi-Med account manager provides a practice assessment, fee analysis and E+M utilization analysis, then establishes your practice’s baseline for future performance evaluation. Fi-Med designs a new encounter form for your practice, installs a custom scanner and sets up a private lockbox service for payments. Finally, an in-house 800# is established for your practice at Fi-Med for all patient and billing inquiries.

Insurance Claim Processing

Fi-Med’s claims experts provide “insider” industry knowledge and expertise medical practitioners need to ensure their claims are clean, compliant and provide maximum revenues fast.

Fi-Med receives and carefully reviews your encounter forms through a secure internet connection, extracting the data and importing into Fi-Med’s custom claim editor for compliant coding. Fi-Med then imports clean claims into its practice management system and submits them immediately to payers. When payments and EOBs are received, Fi-Med processes them through its lockbox service and makes cash available to each client—often in as little as three weeks. Payment records are then archived in a secure data center.

Receivables Management

Fi-Med takes the lead on all invoicing, receivables management, patient billing inquiries, collections and claim denial appeals, keeping the revenue flow running smoothly and predictably, minimizing delinquencies.

Fi-Med tracks and records all insurance company and patient invoices and payments, and manages all payment denials and discrepancies. Fi-Med tracks the status of all receivables, issues statements and integrates receivables and payment data into monthly and annual client reports. For habitually or unusually late payers, Fi-Med works closely with clients to determine appropriate action.

Financial Analysis

Fi-Med uses a practice baseline established early on to track and analyze practice financial performance, providing clients with custom, monthly and annual reports and suggesting areas of potential improvement.

Fi-Med carefully tracks all data from encounter forms, EOBs and payments and compiles it into monthly and YTD financial reports. We provide clients with highly-personalized fee and cost analysis so clients can have a better understanding of the costs involved in procedures, know whether they're losing money, and accommodate for regional factors like acuity.

Lockbox Service

Fi-Med clients rest easy knowing payments from insurance companies and private payers alike are being received, recorded and deposited through each client’s custom, secure lockbox service.

Fi-Med receives patient and insurance company payments through each client’s custom lockbox. Payments are immediately scanned, deposited by ACH into the client’s bank account and recorded, and clients are automatically notified by email that their payments are available and viewable online.

Secure Online Storage & Retrieval

Fi-Med archives client data for storage and future analysis through secure methods designed to preserve and protect information, and to make it accessible to clients for review anytime, 24 hours a day.

Fi-Med provides each client with a secure internet connection with data archiving capabilities. All payments are scanned internally at Fi-Med and made available for viewing by clients and their staff, including encounter forms, EOBs, requisitions and payments.

EMR

Fi-Med is proud to offer SequelMed EMR (Electronic Medical Records) as a certified Channel Partner. This allows Fi-Med to set up and maintain paperless, digital patient records for faster, more efficient access and reduced documentation errors. A complex and expensive investment for practices and centers to set up and manage in-house, EMR solutions often require a dedicated healthcare IT professional. Fi-Med clients receive sophisticated EMR solutions as part of an extensive suite of services.

SequelMed EMR is a secure, real-time, point-of-care application that provides decision support tools and alerts for clinicians that provide instant access to patient records and aid in the auto-capture of decision-making rationale. Customizable templates and flowsheets allow clinicians to automate workflow, and, ultimately, see more patients. SequelMed EMR is fully integrated with FiMed's SequelMed Practice Management System, supporting secure billing and financial data collection and image and document management.

E-prescribing

Fi-Med offers clients the advantage of sending error-free, electronic prescriptions directly from point-of-care to the pharmacy without ever lifting a pen—a critical component in the improvement of patient care and safety.

Fi-Med's e-prescription software partner, SequelMed, provides drug and benefit details and patient medication history from prior patient records, even those generated by other physicians and hospitals. Clients also have access to online drug reference guides, reporting capabilities and 24/7 electronic access to patient prescription data.
