Thanks to a change in CPT descriptor language, transfer of care is to be billed with the appropriate new or established visit code. This isn&#039;t so much a change in billing policy as it is a revision and clarification of existing CPT language that was long overdue and, as fate would have it, too little too late from Medicare&#039;s perspective.</description>
