Paul raises an important point about the rush to EHR. This is another example of an attempt to standardize "Healthcare data storage and transmission". It is agreed that it is needed but I believe that the physician will pay the price again and be swept up into doing something that will increase their financial and administrative burden instead of improving performance and reducing costs. There is misinformation that if you buy an EHR system you will get $40,000 per physician. Go figure.

As usual this was wonderfully written and fun to read. Leave it to Paul to compare EHR with a TV show of a talking car. I always look forward to your next thought provoking blog.
